Short Story/Poetry Submission Guidelines

All submissions must have some Korean element in them.

All submissions must be in an original work of short fiction or poetry and written in English.

All short fiction submissions must be between 1000-8000 words. For poetry, less than 500 words.

Submissions with excessive profanity and/or pornographic content will not be considered. Submissions are open to all writers regardless of nationality. We are not picky about genre (comedy, romance, science-fiction, fantasy, mystery etc.) provided the story is fiction and contains a broader theme of “Korea.”

We do not publish novel excerpts.

 

How To Submit

-Email an attachment of your short story in PDF or MS Word format to korealiterary@gmail.com with the words “short story submission” in the subject line. For poetry, the subject line should read “poetry submission.”

-Please allow up to two months for a response.

-Multiple submissions are accepted but should be sent individually.

-Simultaneous submissions (to other publications) are accepted but please let us know if your work is accepted for publication elsewhere.

-We are a new publication, so at this time we cannot offer payment for any accepted submission.  We hope that this will change in the near future.

-Upon acceptance, we reserve the right to display your story on our website for one month, as well as a one time publication in one of our quarterly PDF journals.  After 6 months, the rights will revert back to the author, but we retain the right to archive your story in our pages.

 

Art/Photography Submissions

All art/photography submissions must have an element of “Korea” about them but are not limited to any style or medium.

To submit a work of art/photography, please follow these guidelines.

-Email an attachment of your artwork/photograph to korealiterary@gmail.com. The subject line should read “art submission.”

-In the body of the email please include a bio, as well as any upcoming showcases where others may view your original works.

-Please allow up to two months for a response.

-Upon acceptance, we reserve the right to display your artwork/photography on our website for up to 6 months.  After six months, we reserve the right to archive your artwork/photography in our pages.
